2012 Highlights

Another year is soon over and what a year it has been. I’ve been so fortunate to have travelled to many places, seen all my friends, moved to a new country and much more. Here are some of my highlights from this year.

My Last Soccer ACAMIS

We went to China and played at the end of April. We came second place, after extra time and penalties. We had a great time, and although we didn’t come home with first place I still had a great time there.

Graduation

Ahhh, this was such a wonderful day. My grandparents and my uncle also came to Mongolia and were at my graduation. It was great to have them there.

My two trips to Uzbekistan

My mom and I went to Uzbekistan in May and we had such a nice trip. Being just us girls we had a lot of fun and got to spend some quality time together. I also went to Uzbekistan during my fall break. I had a great time and I got to see my family again.

Bible group with Terese, Ingrid & Kristian

I’ve had a lot of fun this year with these three people. Terese is always teaching us something new and coming up with new things to do. The last Bible group we went to Terelsj and had such a nice evening together where we made a bon-fire and played a lot of different games.

Summer in Norway

I had a great summer in Norway. Visiting family, seeing friends again and eating Norwegian food. I also spent most of the summer working, which was great.

Highlights in England

Now I’m back in Norway and Sarah and I have been to a lot of places here: Bergen, Oslo and Hamar. We’ve had a really nice time and here are some of the highlights of our trip in England:

Madame Tussauds

The wax figures looked really real and they even had a scary house which is worth visiting. Very scary, but a lot of fun. A lot of pictures were taken this day.

The Jane Austen Center

Sarah and I both like the books that Jane Austen wrote, so when we were in Bath we went to the Jane Austen center and learned more about the author and we even got to dress up!

The Crescent

Original the Crescent was used Dukes and Princes, however now one apartment is a museum, while the others are still privately owned.

Greenwich

If you are in London it isn’t far to travel to Greenwich. Although our trip to Greenwich was very short, it was nice.

London Sights

There are a lot of things to see in London. We had a London Pass one day and saw a lot. However, seeing Big Ben, the London Tower and platform 9 3/4 were the best activities in my opinion.

Stonehenge

It was interesting to hear and see Stonehenge.

Norway

Today I had my first day at work, woke up early and went to work at 8. In the afternoon Sarah and I had planned to go on a picnic, although the weather was not really on our side. We grilled sausages with norwegian “lomper”. When we finished eating it started to rain so we went home again. But it was nice even thought the trip was cut short :)

Last days in Mongolia and Beijing

It’s unreal to think that we are leaving Mongolia for good. After living there for five years Mongolia has become home. There are many things that I will miss with Mongolia, but I’m also looking forward to what comes next.Image

The last days in Mongolia were mostly spent with friends. On Wednesday I helped the PE department with the annual Sports Day. On Sports Day the whole school plays different sports and competes against the other house colors. Every student is placed in one of the “houses” either blue, red, green or yellow. I decided to help out and refereed the soccer games and helped out in Primary. In the afternoon the girls and boys soccer ACAMIS teams played against a local Mongolia club. Unfortunately the boys lost 3-0, but the girls won 8-1. It was a fun match and I even scored a goal.

At the end of April we, the girls and boys soccer teams,  travelled to China to participate in the annual soccer ACAMIS (Association between Chinese and Mongolian International Schools) tournament. It was my last soccer tournament and it was amazing. The girls came second and the boys game third.

The last day of school was only a half-day, with a morning assembly and yearbook signing. At the assembly different awards are given out to certain students. A most improved award and an excellence award are given out in each subject. I was very surprised and happy when I got “athlete of the year” award.

After the assembly we got our yearbooks before I had to say goodbye to many of my friends.

Mexican restaurant in Beijing.

Now we have spent 3 days in Beijing. We haven’t done that much, but we did go to the market and I bought some new shoes and two new bags. I’m writing this on the plane from Beijing to Frankfurt and I haven’t been able to upload a new post because I haven’t been able to access WordPress.

On Wednesday I’m going to London with my dear friend Sarah :)
