Today we were finally able to see the sun here in Hurdal after a week with rain and we celebrated with having one of our classes outside. Later today we had waffles and games at one of the houses here. I ended up playing “Holdeskalle”. This is a game where you are a person and a place and you’re going to try and guess who are where you are.

Last day at work
Today I said my first goodbye here in Bolivia and it was to these amazing boys:
These two amazing ladies (picture below) had made a cake to me because it was my last day. The cake was really nice and I loved the gesture.
I’ve loved working here, helping the kids with school work, playing games or soccer outside or any of the other games that they have taught me.
Universitario
This week has gone by so quickly and I’ve done so many things, barbecue with friends, cooking Bolivian food, soccer match, youth group, movie night and so much more. Today, though, Hilde and I went and watched Universitario play again and it was great. We also bought soccer jerseys and a hat to go with it so when we sat with the other fans we were right at home.
More pictures from this great weekend tomorrow or Monday :-)
It ended 3-0
Yesterday we went to watch Universitario (Sucre) play against Orientes (Santa Cruz) with Yamil. We were really looking forward to it and had a great time watching them play. I was also really impressed with their running, Sucre is quite a bit higher, altitude wise, than other soccer matches I’ve seen before, but it didn’t seem to affect the players. The game ended with 3-0, to the wrong team. However, fun to watch!
Excited Norwegians ready to watch soccer.
Gratulerer med dagen!
Gratulerer så masse med dagen, Kristian. Håper du får en fantastisk dag og jeg gleder meg til å se deg i Mars!
2012 Highlights
Another year is soon over and what a year it has been. I’ve been so fortunate to have travelled to many places, seen all my friends, moved to a new country and much more. Here are some of my highlights from this year.
My Last Soccer ACAMIS
We went to China and played at the end of April. We came second place, after extra time and penalties. We had a great time, and although we didn’t come home with first place I still had a great time there.
Graduation
Ahhh, this was such a wonderful day. My grandparents and my uncle also came to Mongolia and were at my graduation. It was great to have them there.
My two trips to Uzbekistan
My mom and I went to Uzbekistan in May and we had such a nice trip. Being just us girls we had a lot of fun and got to spend some quality time together. I also went to Uzbekistan during my fall break. I had a great time and I got to see my family again.
Bible group with Terese, Ingrid & Kristian
I’ve had a lot of fun this year with these three people. Terese is always teaching us something new and coming up with new things to do. The last Bible group we went to Terelsj and had such a nice evening together where we made a bon-fire and played a lot of different games.
Summer in Norway
I had a great summer in Norway. Visiting family, seeing friends again and eating Norwegian food. I also spent most of the summer working, which was great.
England with Sarah
Sarah and I have taken a couple of trips together the last couple of years and this year we went to England and we visited London and Bath. Sarah also came back to Norway with me where we did a lot of shopping :)
Moving to Bolivia
I started at GUS this fall and I’ve met a lot of wonderful people there. I also got to move to a new country and experience what Bolivia has to offer.
These are just some of the highlights from 2012.
Happy New Year!
Friday is Here!
Our first week at work is over and it has been an amazing week. I’ve been working at two different orphanages and I like them both. Today I played soccer with the kids and I learned a new game. This new game is kind of similar to a game I played when I was younger. I don’t know if you played with Pokemon cards and then you flipped them and if your card landed face up and your opponent’s card landed face down you won the card. Well, this game is a little similar, but the cards are circular and you throw one piece down to try and flip the other one over. It was fun to learn a new game, but I need to practice some more :)
I have realized how important it is for me to learn Spanish. I want to be able to communicate with them and I don’t like it when I want to say something, but I’m unable to find the words in Spanish. So now I’m going to memorize all the verbs that I learned at school and a lot of other things too.
Villa Norita
Yesterday was a long, but good day. Last week we heard that we were going on a field trip with the orphanage and I was really looking forward to it. Yesterday we travelled to Villa Norita which is about 20 minutes outside the city. Villa Norita was really nice, they had two pools, slides, a trampoline, a volleyball and basketball court and a grass field. It is a perfect place for people of all ages. We came in the morning and we spent the whole day there. After a day with the kids I can honestly say that I was really tired and when I came home I just fell on the bed. Tomorrow we have the day off because they’re having a census here in Sucre.
The kids loved playing in the water. However, most kids were already in the water before they got their bathing suit on.
I really wanted to try these slides!
A Day in Sucre
Today we visited another orphanages and at this orphanage the kids were older: 5-16 years and the people that worked there said that the kids loved to play soccer and other sports. Today we’re half way through our Spanish lessons and it’s still a lot of fun to learn, although it can be difficult at times. We’ve just started learning verbs and conjugating them can be a little tricky. I hope that I can continue to learn Spanish when I start to work.
Ingvild made dinner to us today – spaghetti :)
This is where we live.
Ingvild, Yngve, Øyvind, Eirunn, me and Hilde :)
Today I got a lot of Spanish homework so I just have to start doing it. A market here in Sucre where they sell everything.
