Today Magna and I made pizza and had strawberries again for dessert. I also colored my hair a little darker and I really like it.
It looks a lot darker now, but change is good :-)
Finally the strawberries season is here and Magna and I had strawberries and ice cream before we went to the cinema to watch the Ring Bling.
So here comes some (a lot) of pictures from my week in Turkey. I had an amazing time there, although we didn’t really see a lot of the country, the pool and the place we stayed at was great. We stayed at a place about 30 minutes outside of Antalya, in a town called Beleck. We went to Side once too and to Antalya. We were so fortunate that there weren’t more people by the pool. Most of the time we had the whole pool to ourselves, including the two slides that they had. Here are some pictures of the place
A lot of fun in the water :-)
I love taking pictures of food so here comes some of the dishes we ate:
The picture above is of Turkish delights and honestly I didn’t find it that delightful, but that and coffee is really special in Turkey and although I didn’t get to taste the coffee down there, people say it’s really nice.
I took Bonaza down to Turkey and we played it several times. I also have a games called “Det burde man jo vite”, which asks you questions about things that one should now. Fun and interesting!
I’m soon finished with my last exam and after that work is on my agenda for the summer.
After getting some sleep I decided to unpack some of my things and I’ve come quite far. It’s nice to get everything in order and it’s so much easier to find things when they’re in a closet instead of in a suitcase. When I was out running it started pouring down and according to the weather forecast it’s going to be thunder and lightning later in the day as well. So I thought I would share this little recipe that Hilde taught me. It’s quite simple to make and it’s delicious.
1. Blow up water balloons to the size that you want them, we made ours kind of small 2. Melt chocolate in a water bath and dip the water balloons in. Cover approx. 3/4 of the balloon. 3. Put them on a dish and 4 put them in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
While the chocolate eggs are in the fridge you can make chocolate mousse. 5. Now you are going to pop the balloons and it’s very important that you remove all of the balloons so no one ends up eating it :-) and then afterwards you put the mousse in. 6. You can eat it as it is or add berries, chocolate, Oreo or any other things that you want on the top!
This has been a great day from start to finish. Since it was our last day in school the teachers decided to do something special, so what we did was pray for each and every student and the other students could pray for you as well. This was really amazing and such a nice way to conclude the school year. We also had a dinner where we had to dress up nicely and the teachers served us. Good company, entertainment and food :-) There was the gentlemen and the ladies speech, singing, performing, games and magic tricks.
Nammm :-)
Show with Lars: I don’t know how to describe this, but it was just amazing!
All my roommates. An amazing house that are always interested in playing games.
Our tradition, I don’t know how many pictures we have like this, but they’re always fun to take.
And what could be more perfect than to end the day with a round of “Ticket to Ride” and a swim in the cold lake? Saturday is the last day here and there are still things to do. Tomorrow there’s washing and packing day. Luckily I’ve packed most of my things so not much to do there. However, it’s forecasted that there’ll be sun tomorrow so some of us were thinking about playing beach volleyball – fun fun!
Hipp Hurra for Norge! Today I have celebrated the national holiday here in Haugesund. The day started with going down to the city center to watch the parade. The weather looked nice when we got down there, but while we were there it started to pour down.
This was before it started to rain…
…Not long afterwards all the umbrellas were up and it was hard to see the parade.
One of the oldest police cars in Haugesund. Not the fastest car… :-)
We had dinner at Radisson hotel where they served a lot of good food as well as dessert and later we went to Kikken’s house.
Tomorrow my two days exam starts and I’ve spent a lot of time reading and I’ve finally finished all the books that I’m going to read. Apart from studying the teams from Africa were responsible for the fellowship evening on Thursday. We played “store maya”, a dice game – really fun!
Karen, Marte and Hanne are also really good at making cupcakes:
Traditions are always nice and who said watching TV isn’t social when you’re 15 people in the room?
Helen and I biking around in Hurdal.
Still cold here in Hurdal….
And Helen, Martha and I spent Saturday night playing Settlers with our own set of rules :-)
I thought that I should share the lasagna recipe with you guys. It’s Ingvild who taught me how to make lasagna and to my surprise it’s actually not that difficult to make.
You need-
1. Fry the meat, I use beef meat. While the meat is frying cut the onion, garlic and the chili in small pieces.
2.When the meat is fried put it all in the meat together with the meat and the tomato sous. If you want it more spicy you can of course add more chili and other things too.
1. Melt butter, about a 100 grams for four people.
2. Add flour till you have a mass, similar to picture 2. It’s about 200 grams flour.
3. Use the thing on picture 3 or a cheese slicer.
4. Then in the end put milk in your mass till you have a thick sous or a a thin porridge and then the cheese as well.
Put the meat on the bottom, then the cheese sous and in the end pasta plates. Do this till the top and you can choose how many layers you want. On the top you put cheese. Put it in the oven on 200 degrees for 25-25 minutes-
Guacamole
Guacamole is great and you can have it with so many different things. It’s also very simple to make, all you need is avocado, sour cream and salt & Pepper or Toro’s dip mix.
1.Cut the avocado in two and use a spoon to take it out.
2. Use a fork to “smash” the avocado
3. Add sour cream and mix it together with either Toto’s dip mix or salt & pepper
Yesterday I travelled to Hamar to visit Mormor og Morfar, my grandparents. I hadn’t seen them since August, so it was so nice to see them again :-) In the evening we watched Senkveld, which was hilarious. They have a duel every Friday and this weeks was especially funny and gross. Worth watching! Today is the first sign of that the winter might finally be gone, the sun is up and the weather is really nice and warm. I also got some of my things from our house here. It feels like Christmas every time I get to see all my stuff that I forgot I had. Found a couple of books and some jewelry that I want to take back to GUS.
A nice breakfast with homemade “Knekkebrød”, which mormor makes! Delicious :) Tonight I’m making lasagna!
